Status:
This painting was not done "en plein air" but in my Philadelphia studio. It was started as an experiment in palette-knife painting. The ocean, beach and sky were all roughed-in with palette-knife (no brushes were used). The image is actually based on the Hardings Beach coast in Chatham, Cape Cod. The lighthouse at the right is based on the old lighthouse (now a private residence) at the entrance to Stage Harbor.
