The houses and the hillside at the crest of the dune at Ballston Beach are the focus of this Cape Cod landscape painting. My intention was to crop out of the scene all the other elements present in "Behind Ballston Beach" which make it identifiable as a Cape Cod location, and to imagine it as an Italian hill town (perhaps in Tuscany).
